Sophie is a senior mechanical engineering student with a biomedical engineering minor from Dallas, TX. She has worked in the lab since Spring 2018. This semester, she is working with PhD candidate Shannon Ingram on the an electrospinning project for vascular grafts. She is also leading the LVAD implant team which is a collaborative effort with Houston Methodist. Previously, she worked with Mingliang Jiang on the biaxial testing of soft tissues and with Shannon Ingram on the design of a cardiac testing chamber. Her ultimate goal is to work with medical devices in either an industry or research setting.
