Christopher Bogaev
Christopher Bogaev (Alex) is a junior from San Antonio, Texas majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in both Mathematics and Japanese. He has developed a passion for applied physics but has decided to pursue Engineering in the hopes that his work will be more impactful. Before his time in the lab, he has interned with both the BiVACOR team at Texas heart institute and Abiomed assisting with the MagLev total artificial heart testing and examining the fluid dynamics of the Impella 5.5. Alex has worked in the lab previously examining polymers and geometries for electrospinning tissue engineered constructs. Currently, he is in search of a constitutive model to mechanically characterize those tissue constructs. After graduation, he plans to pursue a PhD in continuum mechanics and FEA before seeking a career in research at a national lab.
